While Seasons Change, We Remain

You are not defined by your season

This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. I was reading a Bible plan the other day and it led me to Ecclesiastes chapter 3.

Here’s a little background on Ecclesiastes:

It was written by King Solemn who had literally everything in the world. Every tangible thing you can think of.

He had it.

Solomon went through a time where he lived apart from God, while he was apart from God he experimented with various sins such as idolatry, and you guessed it, materialism. He reflects on those experiences in this particular book.

In Chapter 3 he specifically talks about seasons. The title for chapter 3 in Bible is

“A time for everything”

The entire chapter, he basically explains that life is a continuous cycle.

There is nothing we can do to prevent the cycle of life. It is God ordained, and the cycle will not end until God says that it is time.

God has given us all a choice on how to live our lives.

How to act

How to speak

What to believe

We can’t change what is going on around us, but what we can change is the way that we respond to it, and the way we choose to live our life in this constant cycle.

We all go through seasons that are harder than others.

Maybe you are in a hard one right now.

I’m here to tell you to HOLD ON!

I’m telling you, do not let the cycle of the world dictate your identity and the way that you view yourself, the way that you feel.

You are a son/daughter of the King of Kings. The Lord of the Most High.

You have been CHOSEN.

Lastly, don’t let your past live rent free in your mind.

Don’t drag your past into this endless cycle, because your past is the ONE THING you can control.

Your past is the one thing that you can toss out.

It is gone.

It doesn’t have to be apart of the endless cycle.

You live this cycle

But this cycle is the world.

You are not of the world my friend.

Remember your past

Learn from it

Grow

But don’t take it’s baggage.

Seasons change

You won’t be stuck in the same season forever, but that’s why I believe recognizing the cycle we are in... is a cycle

recognizing we cannot change the cycle

Recognizing we are NOT the cycle; we simply live in it.

We cannot change the cycle.

We cannot change the season

But we can change our perspective.

The Holy Spirit gives us way more power than we believe we have. He equips us with His word.

He gives us armor.

We have to use it

We have to know it.

We have to be ready.

So lastly, stop trying to change the cycle because it isn’t going to change. Just take a step back, and think about how you’re looking at it.

You can only control YOU.

seasons change

seasons are not permanent.

You are not your season

You are not your past.

These are two things that are simply apart of your story that God has written specifically for you.

You are so much more than what your feelings, what other people, who you are telling yourself you are.

I encourage you to read Ecclesiastes 3 because it’s a good read.

Praying over all of you🤍
